Buying a Property in The Golden Mile, Marbella

Located directly next to Puerto Banus, the Golden Mile is a stretch of just under 6.5km of land running from Puerto Banus to the start of Marbella's business district.
Covering an extremely large area of land, there are surprisingly very few apartments, townhouses and Villas for sale in The Golden Mile, Marbella, mainly due to the extremely high price of land, but also due to there being several 5* Luxury Hotels located on the beachfront  - namely the Puente Romano, Marbella Club, Coral Beach Iberostar and the Melia Don Pepe.
To the north side of The Golden Mile you will find King Fahd's Palace, occupying a massive area of land containing well…a palace!  The palace is built from marble and gold and is built in a replica style of the White House in Washington. King Fahd’s entourage (prior to his death in 2005) were rumoured to spend up to €5,000,000 per day whilst in Marbella!
Behind the Palace you will find the lower area of Sierra Blanca, a beautiful location containing many of Marbella's "Super Villas," with breathtaking views to the sea, Morocco and Gibraltar.  Just behind The Golden Mile, and one of King Fahd's neighbours is the beautiful Olivia Valere Nightclub and several ultra exclusive apartment developments such as La Trinidad, Las Lomas de Sierra Blanca and the newest kid on the block, The World Marbella; which will be home to some of the most luxurious and stylish apartments for sale in Marbella.  
To the east of the Palace you will find the Mosque (again built by King Fahd), and a handful of townhouse and apartment developments - Las Lomas de Marbella Club Pueblo, Senorio de Marbella, Solana de Nagueles, La Virginia, Mansion Club, Meisho Hills, Coto Real and Kings Hills - Las Lomas de Marbella Club is a large area mainly occupied by the above apartments or several super exclusive private villas.
The Golden Mile is surprisingly spread out, so finding a property that's within easy walking distance to both amenities and the beach is actually quite difficult. Easy beach access developments (actually most of these are all frontline beach located) are Diamond Beach, Coral Beach, Playa Esmerelda, Benalus, Oasis Club, Puente Romano apartments and if the budget will stretch, the Marbella Club itself.  Just a little further east of the Marbella club you will find the wonderful Villa Tiberio restaurant, surrounding this area are many cafes, bars, restaurants, supermarkets - all reasonably priced. There are several properties for sale in developments that are literally 5 minutes walk to amenities and the beautiful Golden Mile beach - Las Canas Beach, Marbellamar, Carolina Park, Marbella Real, Hacienda Costa Nagueles and Alhambra del Mar are the closest options.
The Golden Mile traces its reputation as a premiere vacation spot to the Marbella Club Hotel, a five star luxury hotel that was originally built in 1953 by Prince Alfonso Hohenlohe, and has been an area that has been frequented by the worlds super elite since the late 1950's - anyone who's anyone over the last 60 years is very likely to have either stayed at or partied at the famous Marbella Club.  The Marbella Club has also hosted many a wedding too, either within the beach front Marbella Club Beach or under the famous Pergola next to the champagne
It's Sister hotel, the Puente Romano, is located 600m west of the Marbella Club, constructed in 1974 as a super exclusive apartment complex.  But following the tremendous success of the Marbella Club, in 1979 the Puente Romano Hotel opened it's doors.  Over the last 25 years the Puente Romano Hotel has been the host to many tennis tournaments and events, welcoming many of the worlds rich and famous. Over the last 10 years it has become probably the most popular spot in Marbella, being the home of the world famous "Suite" night club, the beachfront Sea Grill restaurant and more recently Danny Garcia's fabulous "Bibo" restaurant. 
The Puente Romano is a favourite of many of our Marbella team, so if you are looking for a great night out, start at the Marbella Club for cocktails on the pool terrace, followed by dinner at Serafina and finally drinks and dancing in Suite until the very early hours.
There are so many fantastic restaurants, trendy bars and amenities it comes as no surprise that buying a property for sale in The Golden Mile, Marbella, remains as popular as ever.
